Last Sunday there was a Club meeting and before it a group, including a complete beginner, got to paddle round Coquet Island in absolutely flat calm seas with next to no wind – and even sunshine. The seal pups are growing up and the rocks close to the shore of the island are crowded with them. There is no landing on Coquet Island but they landed on the beach at Hauxley for coffee.
