Last weekend was a surfing weekend for the club. On Saturday Tim from Shorebase gave a surf coaching session to a small group willing to brave the cold to try out the new surf boats that Shorebase has acquired and develop their surf skills. On Sunday the regular sea group found the sea outside the harbour too rough, with 1.3m waves coming in, so played in the waves in the Little Shore – much smaller than those for the dedicated surfers on Saturday but still a chance to have some fun and practise surf skills. There were no takers for the regular outing up the river from Shorebase, maybe put off by the cold, and the rivers were too low for the river runners. The orange and white boats in the photo above are the new sea boats the club has bought, those below are the session in the Little Shore. All photos Davy Jackson.
