Despite the wind, most people enjoyed their paddle around Coquet Island. Many thanks to Vic who is the person who does all the work preparing for this race. Also a big thank you to all of our volunteers who manned the Safety boats and helped out generally.
Several clubs competed with 6 of 24 contestents being from our club. Conditions were choppy, particularly on the return with west wind and southern swell. We don’t have any fast Ski kayak paddlers in the club, so ignoring them, the fastest sea kayak was 58 min from Tynemouth and Richard Sill clocked fastest for our club at 67 min.
