The club’s September camping weekend in Scotland was only a short drive away in North Berwick. Conditions weren’t ideal with a Force 4 wind from the North East and a bit of a swell and the weather generally a bit damp and murky. Nine members went out on the Saturday, launched in Milsey Bay and rockhopped Eastwards through Canty Bay and past Tantallon Castle to the secret harbour (the Gegan) and lunch at Seacliff. They returned the same way but with wind and tide behind them and different rocks to hop as the tide came up. It was quite lively at times and a bit too bouncy for taking photographs. On the Sunday the wind was stronger and the chop was bigger and it was decided not to paddle. Disappointing, since North Berwick offers a choice of varied and easy paddling when conditions are right.
