The club’s annual camping trip to Berwick was a grand weekend courtesy of Berwick Sailing Club who very kindly allowed us to use their facilities. The weather gods were kind to us , everyone managed a paddle on Saturday, and some of us on Sunday.
Sea kayakers paddled north from Berwick on Saturday exploring caves and tunnels, as you can see in the photos below by Andrew Bradbury.
St Abbs provided a rock hopping playground on Sunday. Dolphins came along to entertain us while we paddled. Our trip was finished off nicely with delicious crab rolls and coffee from the cafe in St Abbs harbour. Photos below Andrew Bradbury.
Some of our youngest members enjoyed a trip up the river along with the river group on Saturday. Photos Eric Petrie.
On Sunday the wind was too strong to paddle in the estuary so children played in the dunes and on the beach, some folks explored the local cafe for a Scottish breakfast.
Home on Monday in the rain , hoping next year’s visit will be just as good. A great weekend had by all.
