The weather has not been kind to kayakers for the last few weeks, with strong winds and rough seas and rivers going up and down like yo-yos. Sunday was the first time for about two months that there were club outings – a small group went to Coquet Island from Shorebase while the river runners had a lovely meander on the North Tyne from Wark to Chollerford – their lunch break is in the photo below by John Snowdon.
The sea was still a little bit lumpy so we only went out to the Western side of Coquet Island rather than going round it. The sun came out for us and there was even a rainbow.
