Last Sunday the only club outing was a sea paddle to Amble Links followed by some rescue practice – the sea is at its warmest at this time of year so the best time to get wet. The forecast had been for strong winds from the South and it had seemed likely that we’d have to stay in the shelter of the river banks but as it turned out on the day it wasn’t that bad. We headed upwind sticking close to the shore and wind against tide meant it was a bit bouncy at the start. We didn’t go far because going round the headland would have made us more exposed and one of the group was only on his second sea paddle. Some folks played in the surf at the Links while those who didn’t fancy it had a coffee break on the water. A fun morning that wasn’t too demanding.
The photos were taken by Davy Jackson on the way out – it was flatter on the way back when the tidal flow was less strong.
